Kremenchuk on May 12
On April 24 nine russian missiles struck the Kremenchuk thermal power plant and the Kremenchuk refinery. One person was killed, seven more were injured. Earlier, on April 2, russians destroyed the infrastructure of the Kremenchuk oil refinery with their shelling and it stopped working.
What does it mean for Ukraine and Kremenchuk
According to Ekonomichna Pravda, the Kremenchuk refinery was the largest oil refinery in Ukraine, with a design capacity of 18.6 million tons. In 2020, the refinery produced 14.2% of all diesel used in the country.
43.05% of its shares belong to the state, Naftogaz Ukraine, and the rest is divided between businessmen Igor Kolomoisky and Oleksandr Yaroslavsky. The suspension of its operation led to a shortage of fuel in the energy market in Ukraine.
