Svoi.Global is an online magazine in English, issued by a team of Ukrainian media representatives united by ABO, the Local Media Development Agency.

In the last five years, we have united 300 reporters and editors and have been developing a network of local media, The City, in 45 small and medium towns around Ukraine, as well as Svoi online magazine about the people, life, and development of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.

Then, Russia started the war against Ukraine. Articles about life were replaced by articles about survival, resistance, and mutual support of the Ukrainians.

Every day, we tell dozens of such stories.

About a doctor from the frontline Popasna, who continued performing surgeries even under the shelling. About an entrepreneur who had put aside his business to help evacuate people from the cities under the most intense shelling. About our colleague who lost her home twice due to the war. About a woman who has survived the bombing of the theater in Mariupol.

We decided that the stories of all these people should be heard abroad too.

This is how Svoi.Global has come to life – an online magazine where we will publish the translations of the best materials prepared by the ABO team for our media outlets. 

All the materials of Svoi.Global can be re-printed free of charge. You only need to add our copyright and a link to our resource.

By the way, "svoi" in Ukrainian means “our people; one’s near and dear; people one cares about.” The Ukrainians have become “svoi” for almost the entire world. Unfortunately, it took a war for it to happen.

Still, the day of our victory will come, and we will restore our country, remaining “svoi” to all the civilized, democratic countries and sharing our achievements, inventions, and new technologies with them.

Svoi.Global will continue to talk about all this in English. From an online magazine about survival and resistance in war time we will become a media covering peaceful, happy life and telling about inspiring Ukrainians and actions that make the world a better place.
